Fantastic opportunity for a strong copywriter to join this ever growing, cool, integrated boutique agency in Shoreditch. The agency is growing, and winning more and more work, adding to their already impressive client list and they now desperately need a strong copywriter to join their team.We will consider a copywriter at a range of levels, however we are not looking for a Senior Copywriter or Creative Group Head or Creative Director level writer. Unfortunately the agency has a structure and all of their senior positions have all been allocated. They now need a Middleweight Copywriter or alternatively they will consider a MW to Senior Copywriter (i.e. a Copywriter who is on the cusp of becoming a Senior writer).

Now we’ve established the level that we’re looking for, lets talk about this agency and their work. They’ve now been going for over 6 years, and they’ve developed a very strong client list and reputation. They work with some fantastic youth, gaming, computer games, skincare, FMCG and a range of other clients. What’s exciting about this agency is that they are the central creative agency for a lot of the companies they work with. They produce the marketing strategy, creative look and feel, strategic thinking and a lot of the executional work the brands they work with.

They’re now looking to bring on board a strong Copywriter at MW or MW to Senior level. As a copywriter you will be expected to work with the other creatives in the team, including Art Directors and Designers, and you’ll reports into the Head of Copy (who is a great guy!). The Creative Director is also very strong, and they’re the type of agency who mentor and develop you, yet at the same time let you get on with it and throw you in at the deep end! This is not in a bad way, might I add, they treat you like an adult, let you get on with your own projects and campaigns and encourage you to produce the best work you can possibly do.

As a Copywriter at this agency you will be expected to work with other creatives to conceive, create and design inspiring creative solutions for their client base. You’ll be a copywriter who will take joint responsibility with the Art Directors on your own individual projects, and we’re looking for someone who can oversee and ensure that they copy tone and style of all the campaigns you produce are consistent with the visual tone and style.

We are looking for a copywriter who has a proven track record in producing a range of integrated campaigns, across TV, Press, Radio, Outdoor, Digital and also DM. It’s absolutely imperative that you’ll be a copywriter who has a good integrated book, in particularly across ATL, but you will also be able to talk about or demonstrate how your ideas and thinking translates across BTL channels. We really want a copywriter who is completely integrated, this is a must for this role.

As this is a small to medium sized business we want a Copywriter who is a real team player. So as well as working well with the other creatives, we’re looking for someone who can build strong relationships with others in the agency including planning and account handling. This will also be a client facing role, therefore we want a copywriter who can express his or her ideas well, with clarity and with passion.

Naturally you’ll be a good writer! Someone who can write long and short copy, great headlines, corporate copy if needed, creative rationales and also get involved in conducting creative research as and when needed. Because of the nature of this business you will be a copywriter who is not afraid of getting involved in photoshoots, TV shoots, etc.. and you’ll be someone who wants to get involved in all aspects of the creative process, not just the writing! I think this is what makes this role so exciting, you’ll be the lead copywriter on a lot of projects, but you’ll also get involved in the full creative process from a design and art direction point of view should you wish to.

Therefore to summarise we are looking for the following person:

  • A copywriter who is conceptually strong
  • A copywriter at MW or MW to Senior Level
  • A copywriter looking for a salary of £35k – £45k
  • A copywriter with drive, ambition and a good sense of humour
  • A copywriter who is strategically and creatively strong
  • A copywriter with a great book full of strong integrated ideas, including TV, Radio, Press and Digital
  • A copywriter who is a team player, and is prepared to really get stuck into this growing agency
